Well it’s been a busy few weeks here at Kit and Kaboodal, we recently had our autumn/winter photoshoot at a great new location and we are only just finding the time to tell you all about it!
The photoshoot took place on the 8th of October and we managed to use every bit of daylight to get some great pictures of our most recent collection. But before we show you all the pictures let’s talk you through the day, starting with arriving at our brand new location, the beautiful Seaves Mill.
Owned by antique dealers and avid gardeners Phil and Jo, Seaves Mill is a beautifully coverted property situated on the edge of The Howardian Hills in the North Yorkshire village of Brandsby, very close to Kit and Kaboodal HQ. Available to book on Air bnb, the cottage is designed with quality and comfort in mind. With an open plan living space, two spacious bedrooms with en-suites and a wood burning stove, it’s the perfect cosy retreat for a luxury weekend in the country. The owners live in the adjoining space and you will find beautiful outdoor seating areas and even a waterfall surrounding the cottage! The day started early with our make-up artist Emily making models Julie and Rachel picture perfect! Carley and Molly set up the styles and sorted the accessories ready for styling whilst the creative and photographic teams along with Seaves Mill owner Jo scouted the best spots to start the shoot.
We soon grabbed the running orders, dressed the models and the first shots of the day began – we were already on a roll. The models posed for both photographers whilst the creative team advised on poses, assisted with hair and make-up checks and captured the behind the scenes shots. Once the images were complete Jack, our videographer began filming to create behind the scene stories of our AW19 styles.
We were full steam ahead until, a couple of hours in, a spot of rain stopped us in our tracks! Lucky for us though, Jo had made a beautiful victoria sponge – so we took a tea and cake break. After refuelling the rain had stopped and we were ready to roll again. We topped up the lipstick and explored the outside of the property once again.
The rest of the morning flew by and we were soon more than halfway through the shoot. We were so excited about the shots and could see great images which we could pottentially use for the website and our Look Book!
As we rushed through the last few hours, frantically trying to get every garment shot we all, one by one, began to hit a wall – these photoshoot days are hard work! But we are made of strong stuff and before long the team were packing up and saying their goodbyes until the next location shoot.
Now, back in the studio, we have begun sifting through the many thousands of images and selecting our favourites from the day – there are too many to choose from! Our photographers are still finishing the final edits but some of the images are already live! Click here to take a look at our homepage and see them online.
Look our for more images popping up on our social media pages, our website and in our Look Book soon! Also, a big shout out to Jo and Phil, Paul, Jack, Emily, Julie and Rachel and our Kit and Kaboodal team. Thank you all so much, for all your hard work – we couldn’t have done it without you.
